  • Gov. Glenn Youngkin has appointed Christian & Barton attorney Peter E. Broadbent Jr. to a fourth term on the Library of Virginia Board, making him the first person in more than 70 years to receive appointments from four governors to Library Board service.
  • Broadbent’s experience with the Library includes three terms as a board member during which he served as chair twice, and he is a former member of the Library of Virginia Foundation Board. His extensive involvement with Virginia organizations focused on history and genealogy also includes the James Monroe Law Office Museum and Memorial Library in Fredericksburg (by gubernatorial appointment); the Virginia Bicentennial of the American War of 1812 Commission (by General Assembly appointment); and terms as president of the Virginia Genealogical Society and the Genealogical Research Institute of Virginia. He is also a current or former director of a number of Virginia hereditary societies, and Vice President of the James Monroe Memorial Foundation, which recently completed reconstruction of President Monroe’s birthplace in Westmoreland County.
  • The Library of Virginia was created by the General Assembly in 1823 to organize, care for, and manage the state’s collection of books and official records, many of which date to the colonial period. It serves as the state’s archives and research library, sets library and state records policy for the Commonwealth and promotes education in history.

  • Litigator Roman Lifson contributed an article on mediation that appeared in “For The Defense,” a publication of DRI. DRI is the largest international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation.

  • Steven W. Lippman is a member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Executive Board, and editor-in-chief for the Division’s Opening Statement newsletter.
  • Callaghan S. Guy is a member of the 2022 YP Leadership Council for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Virginia Chapter, and will serve as vice chair of the 2022 Richmond’s Finest Committee. Callie was a Richmond ‘s Finest honoree in 2020.
  • S. Perry Coburn gave a presentation entitled “Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and Virginia” to members of an industrial association, Electricity Consumers Resource Council (ELCON), at ELCON’s quarterly roundtable discussion earlier in the year.
