Christian & Barton has a 95-year strong commitment to public and community service. Our lawyers and staff are involved in many ways, including service as volunteers, officers, directors and other leadership roles for a myriad of organizations.
Community/Pro Bono
Christian & Barton is delighted our lawyers and support staff have elected to share their time and talents with local PTAs, church groups, homeowners’ associations, athletic leagues, and many other organizations.
Their stories include:
A young attorney who has served as a statewide co-chair of the Legal Food Frenzy since 2007. This project is a partnership between the Virginia Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, and the Attorney General’s office to encourage the legal community to raise food and funds to restock local food banks shelves throughout the state.
A senior partner who was a director of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society for 28 years. As recognition, he was awarded the Lewis F. Powell Jr. Pro Bono Award from the Virginia State Bar in 1996. This is the highest recognition possible for pro bono legal service in Virginia.
