Ten Christian & Barton attorneys were named to the 2009 Virginia Super Lawyers list, an annual recognition by Virginia Super Lawyers & Rising Stars magazine.
They include Eric E. Ballou (Bonds/Government Finance); J. Edward Betts (Antitrust Litigation); Peter E. Broadbent, Jr. (Utilities); R. Harvey Chappell, Jr. (General Litigation); W. David Harless (Business Litigation); Craig T. Merritt (Business Litigation); Louis R. Monacell (Energy & Natural Resources); Michael J. Quinan (Business Litigation); Michael W. Smith (Business Litigation); and C. Daniel Stevens (Estate Planning & Probate).
In addition, the publication listed Mr. Merritt among the top 10 attorneys in the state, and Mr. Harless and Mr. Smith among the top 50 attorneys, based on point totals from the evaluation process.
According to Law & Politics, publishers of the Super Lawyers magazines nationwide, the annual recognition list is a result of a selection system that includes a statewide survey of attorneys, research and peer evaluation. (June 2009)
